We went to check out a wine tasting dinner hosted by Room Restaurant last month. Hosted by Bibendum Wines, we were met with canapés on arrival and then guided through five different sample dishes (from saddle of rabbit to fresh salt cod) and the wines complimented them. Spanish wine doesn’t always get the recognition it deserves so it was good to get a real insight into the different nuances of the wine on offer. Best wine of the night has got to go to the Casa de la Ermitas Crianza Tinto 2003, which was a really unusual, smokey white. They’re doing another one on May 16th, and tickets cost £30. Well worth it, we say!
