Who?
John Pallagi and Simon Wright founded Room Restaurants six years ago, in a bid to challenge a restaurant and bar sector that was being monopolised by run-of-the-mill chain operators.
What?
A contemporary restaurant lounge bar offering good quality, unpretentious food, served without attitude. Room serves traditional ‘retro’ dishes – think prawn cocktail, pot noodle and a chocolate cornflake cake – but gives them a contemporary makeover. So, it makes sense for fish and chips to appear on the menu.
Why?
Head chef Sarah Hugget said “People know what they are getting with fish and chips, and, of course have certain expectations. At Room we ensure the batter is a priority as this forms the basis of a long-established favourite”.
